Born in Hamburg, Germany. Completed primary and secondary education in Hamburg. One-year stay in Washington D.C., USA. High School diploma in the USA and German Abitur. Military and civil service. Languages: English, Italian, and French.
Studied Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano.
Graduated in Architecture as Dottore di Architettura at the Politecnico di Milano under Prof. Guido Nardi, with a thesis on “Future Housing Systems.”
Practical professional experience in renowned German architectural offices (e.g., von Gerkan, Marg + Partner; Bothe Richter Teherani Architekten; Grüntuch / Ernst Architekten; Kleihues + Kleihues). Design of low-energy buildings for residential, educational, transport, and administrative projects. Multiple first prizes in architectural competitions. Registered with the German Chamber of Architects since 2002.
Self-employed as an architect with own office since 2002.
Teaching / Academic Work (in parallel with professional practice):
2005–2009: Research Associate at the Institute for Sustainable Architecture, Technical University of Braunschweig, under Prof. Per Krusche. Conducted seminars focusing on innovative, energy-efficient architecture (Modules in Nov./Dec. 2007 and Nov./Dec. 2008) .
Teaching at Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro in collaboration with the Technical University of Braunschweig (Modules in Nov./Dec. 2007 and Nov./Dec. 2008). Research projects in Brazil, Ethiopia, Egypt, Libya, and Germany on ecological architecture, low-cost housing, upgrading informal settlements, and community capacity-building strategies.
2011–2013: Staff member at the Department of Architecture, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Dessau. Seminars focused on ecological construction and building energy efficiency.
Since 2011: Teaching the module “Architecture and Design” in the MLA Master’s program at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Bernburg.
2013–2021: Associate Professor, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, German University of Technology in Oman, Muscat. Teaching, research, and consultancy in energy-efficient building design.
2015–2018: Dean, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, German University of Technology in Oman, Muscat.
